Where is Moleskin produced?
Moleskin is a member of the family of fustian fabrics, whose origins are believed to be Fustat, Egypt. As the definition and manufacturing process of fustian evolved through the ages, so did the centers of production. By the 19th century, the majority of fustian production was from the English districts of East Lancashire and West Yorkshire.
Today, one can source Moleskin fabric from a large number of regions around the world; however, due to unique manufacturing methods, there are only a few mills left that have the heritage, equipment, and craftsmanship necessary to produce a premium Moleskin.
